Responsible Sourcing Policy
Introduction
SKAARHOJ is committed to conducting its business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We believe that our products should not only meet the highest standards of quality and performance, but also reflect our values and principles. We recognize that our supply chain is a key component of our sustainability and impact, and we strive to ensure that our suppliers share our commitment to ethical and responsible practices.
Scope
This policy applies to all suppliers of SKAARHOJ, including those who provide raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, finished goods, and services. We expect our suppliers to comply with this policy, as well as with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries where they operate. We also encourage our suppliers to go beyond compliance and adopt best practices that promote social and environmental responsibility.
Policy
As part of our responsible sourcing policy, we require our suppliers to adhere to the following standards:
-
Conflict Minerals: We do not tolerate the use of conflict minerals in our products. Conflict minerals are defined as tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold (3TG) that originate from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries, and that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups that are involved in human rights abuses. We expect our suppliers to exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of 3TG in their products, and to provide us with information and documentation that demonstrate their compliance with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. We also expect our suppliers to support industry initiatives that aim to improve transparency and traceability of 3TG, such as the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).
-
Forced Labor: We do not tolerate the use of forced, imprisoned, indentured, or indentured child labor in our supply chain. Forced labor is defined as any work or service that is performed involuntarily under threat of physical or other penalty. We expect our suppliers to respect the freedom of movement and the right to terminate employment of their workers, and to refrain from withholding their identity documents, wages, or benefits. We also expect our suppliers to ensure that their workers are not subject to any form of coercion, harassment, abuse, or violence.
-
Child Labor: We do not tolerate the use of child labor in our supply chain. Child labor is defined as any work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity, and that is harmful to their physical and mental development. We expect our suppliers to comply with the minimum age requirements for employment in their respective countries, and to adhere to the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 138 on the Minimum Age and Convention 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labor. We also expect our suppliers to support the education and development of children, and to provide them with adequate protection and care.
Monitoring and Compliance
We monitor the compliance of our suppliers with this policy through various methods, such as self-assessments, audits, site visits, and third-party verification. We reserve the right to terminate our relationship with any supplier who fails to comply with this policy, or who refuses to cooperate with our monitoring and verification efforts. We also welcome feedback and suggestions from our suppliers on how to improve our responsible sourcing practices and performance.
