L10: Four-Way buttons
Learn to change buttons into encoders an unlock to extreme flexibility of SKAARHOJ panels. We demonstrate how keys kan be used to turn volume up an down and tweak the functionality to perfection through rotation and transformation of the four-way behaviour.
Summary: Four-way buttons are explained, first by concluding that for normal button actions like bus delegation they just work as buttons, but when the action “System: Force HWC type” is used to turn it into an encoder (pulsed type) it can adjust values up and down. This is done for ATEM audio volume on the top 6 buttons on the Live Fly - by pressing the right and left edges to turn it up and down respectively. Kasper also shows how you can transform change the behaviour (action “System: Transform 4-way behaviour”)by for example “rotate” the button so it’s the top and bottom edges that work as increase and decrease. Kasper also shows how you can block edges so four-way buttons can be totally customized. Finally, the designed and confirmed behaviour is copied to all six buttons.
